Removal of Livestock

Finding abandoned horses and livestock on your property is not an uncommon problem and it is often difficult to know what to start and what your rights are as a landowner. To protect horse welfare and property owners the law changed in 2015 to make it easier for private and public landowners, occupiers and local authorities to act quickly to protect horses.  The Act puts a stop to unlawful grazing and prevents animal cruelty, neglect and abandonment.

If you find an animal on your land, it is important you begin by looking after the animal’s welfare.  The Blue Cross has a helpful guide. When you contact us, we will provide you with a range of options on what to do next and sensitively manage the situation for you including finding the owners and removal of the animals as well as working with the police and any other services as needed.

We are usually able to provide a solution the same day you contact us.
